Everyone knows that lies hurt people.So why do we continue to tell lies?Psychologists say the number one reason why people lie is to avoid confrontation.They think that if they tell the truth,it might start an argument.To avoid that,they lie and tell people what they want to hear.The problem is that the truth usually comes out sooner or later.And then people will be even angrier than if they were lied to.

The number two reason people lie is to make themselves look good.They might think they are not very special or interesting .So they tell lies to other people and make themselves look smarter,braver or more exciting.But the truth always comes out!Besides,if you tell a lie many times,you might start believing it yourself!
It is always best to be honest about your strengths and weaknesses.
